Description

The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word founded Visitation House in 1985 to respond to the needs and concerns of economically poor women and children and named it for the premise on which it operates - The Gospel Story of Mary & Elizabeth- women helping women.
It is realized in our two-year Transitional Housing & Education Program for homeless single mothers with young children, and extended into the community-at-large at the Visitation House La Casita Women's Learning Center.

It is great that women and kids have all the protection they need. But how sad that society does t think men sometimes need help and are victims as well. Here I am with a crippled back, i just turned 30. I have been in recoup for 4 yrs and today, finally things exploded in the house, all the tension exploded. I have nowhere to go and I find no help available for men. My eldest brother took me in for the night. Oh well, what's the point. If there is any help for men, pls let me know, I can't return home. I have no addictions, I don't do drugs or anything, it's just that my family, has never been a family and I just had the bad luck to become crippled.
