Hi, I just arrived to the US after living abroad for many years and I'm looking for a shelter where I can find help so I can rebuild my life. I'm currently in Tucson, Arizona, but want to move to Austin as I hear such shelters as yours offer excellentry services and finding employment is much more easy than the place I'm at. How long can some one stay in your shelter. I need to find a good shelter that let's me stay for at least a few months so that I can find a job, save money, and get on in my life.

I'm a 38-year-old autistic trans woman, I receive SSI disability, and I'm trying to escape a toxic, abusive situation. I have to be out of the house ASAP, and I have nowhere to go. I applied for housing wait lists, but I need somewhere to go in the meantime. I can't be on the street. Most room rentals are far beyond my budget, or I'm just not wanted due to bigotry. I'm scared and I don't know what to do. Please help.

Array I am 58 yrs old soon be 59 in January. I was in a car accident in May and ended up with my daughter. She is supportive but Narrcisstic. I am waiting a ssi/ disability hearing between January- July. I have an attorney as well. I am able to work probably 20 hrs a week but not a full 40. I have no family but 3 grown children. All are unable to support me 100%. One son receives Ssi/ disability , living in Ark. One son in Colorado with a baby coming by the end of the month. My daughter has 3 sons and has been offered her father's home in Arkansas until he sales it . She will be moving soon. I dont know how I can come up with a car, a job, and a home within a couple months. My daughter doesn't even offer to take me to look for a job. I feel like im spinning my wheels getting nowhere. 3 weeks living here I've been babysitting her boys almost everyday and its wearing me out and i feel im being used up. I love my grandbabies but i feel obligated and when ive expressed it, it has became very ugly. I am greatful but afraid when they actually load up to go that ill be standing in the road literally waving bye and thanks for leaving. I want to at least be able to work some, buy my necessities, my meds, etc. Hopefully my hearing will come before july. I have no income and no boyfriend/spouse supporting me. I need a place to live temporarily with means of finding work, until this hearing unless i become able to work full time. I'm afraid. My children all 3 have thrown me around like a dishrag and I've been homeless more than once. But im just not able to just do this without help again. Im getting old. Im ashamed i have nothing but if i win my case i hope to buy a used RV and used vehicle and never depend on anyone but me again. I hope I at least hear bk from you all. I've worked in the medical field for yrs and enjoy the most working the old Veterans. I dont know if I'll be able to do that at this time. I'd be glad at this point for shelter and a part time job to pay for the things i need. I feel hopeless at this point. If i had a ride , i would find work and live in my car if necessary. Can u please email me. I feel Austin would be a new beginning for my journey. Thank you very much
