Description

New Hope Center was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1992 and opened the men's shelter on May 1st of that year.
Three family shelters (single family dwellings) were added over the following years, and on May 13th, 2013 the women's shelter opened its doors to single women and women with children.
They are one of only two organizations in all of northern Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula, that is able to keep families together while they are in a center.
Their facilities provide a total of 38 beds.
In the fiscal year 2017-2018 they provided 6,712 bed nights (one bed night = a bed to sleep in, 2 meals, a hot shower, and clean clothes).
