Description

The kitchen, inc. provides temporary housing for homeless women and families through the Emergency Shelter program.
The shelter, located in two buildings on The Kitchen, Inc. campus, is critical in getting people off the streets and on a path to permanent housing.
Case managers work with each individual to assess their needs and barriers before moving into another housing program of The Kitchen, Inc.
These barriers can range from addictions and mental and physical health issues to education and employment and legal issues.
Case managers also evaluate the condition, experiences and skills of those in need.
Together, residents and case managers formulate goals and design a plan which utilizes these experiences, interests and skills to move each person out of homelessness and toward independence and self-sufficiency.
