This email is on behalf of my 29 year old nephew. He lived with me for several months, but is now homeless. He has alcohol and drug addictions. I also believe he is suffering some sort of mental break. His thinking process has become delusional and his actions are very much up and down. He is speaking of suicidal thoughts and even homicidal thoughts towards his adoptive father due to sudden "memories" of physical and sexual abuse he believes occurred when he was younger. The family does not believe these sudden memories; however, he is fixated on them as well as other matters and cannot seem to get a fix on reality. I will say that his childhood was very, very difficult due to many factors, primarily his mother (my sister) and her addiction and mental problems. I am reaching out, as I don't know what else to do. He is unemployed, has no insurance, no money (neither do I), and is sleeping in his car wherever he can find a place. Can you please give me any information which might assist me in finding a place that could offer him some help? I am very worried about what could happen if he doesn't get some help VERY soon. It has gotten to the point that I am fearful of even being alone in my home with him without my husband. Thank you for any advice you can give. This is a young man who needs help desperately and I'm trying to find a way to get it for him before he hurts himself or anyone else.
