Description

Violence Intervention Program (VIP) - works to reduce the physical, psychological and emotional trauma and recurrence of domestic violence, sexual assault and incest experienced by victims and their families. Services include: a 24-hour hotline to assist with crisis intervention, emotional support, information about emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy and other community and social service resources, 24-hour emergency and protective housing in a confidential location, individual, family and/or group counseling, counseling for children 5-17 years of age who have experienced violence in the home, counseling for batterers to control anger and eliminate abusive behavior, legal advocacy, compassionate emotional support to sexual assault victims while using state-of-the-art evidence collection tools and techniques for use in prosecuting offenders, and free cellular phones pre-programmed to automatically dial "911" and/or ACWC's 24-hour hotline for domestic violence victims who are in imminent physical danger.

Child Care Network - promotes and enhances existing child care services and works to develop and increase the supply of quality and affordable child care in Atlantic County. Services include: assisting Work First New Jersey participants who are employed full-time or receiving TANF cash assistance with a child(ren) under 13 or a special needs child up to 19 to receive full-or part-time child care, a child care subsidy program for low-income parents who work or attend school full-time and have children under age 13 or a special needs child up to age 19, and the Child Care Resource and Referral line that distributes information about child care resources and services.

Home To Work (HTW) - empowers displaced homemakers with the personal support, education and job training necessary to become independent and self-sufficient. Services include: career counseling, computer training, job readiness, job search, job placement assistance, resume writing, interviewing skills,and a clothes closet of quality business suits and other work attire and accessories.

WomenSource Training Institute - coordinates all of the agency's educational opportunities. Training includes: Child Development Associate Training (CDA) which assesses and credentials child care providers, and the "Educating To End Domestic Violence" Workshop.
