Description
Milestone operates the only homeless shelter that admits individuals under the influence of alcohol or other drugs in the state of Maine.
The 41-bed emergency overnight shelter provides homeless men with a safe place to sleep, eat a nutritious meal, launder their clothing and have a shower while being treated with dignity and respect.
In addition to providing a safety net to our community's most vulnerable individuals struggling with chronic alcohol and drug dependence, shelter staff educate clients and encourage them to enter an on-site medically managed detoxification program.
