Description

Mentally, physically, verbally, emotionally, sexually abused women and their children.

The River Valley Shelter for Battered Women & Children (RVSBWC) provides free emergency shelter, food, and clothing to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. We also provide a free 24-hour crisis phone line and services to clients.
Emergency shelter is available to women and children fleeing domestic violence. Many families arrive tired, hungry, hurt and traumatized with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. RVSBWC provides food, clothing, linens and hygiene items at no cost. We rely on the generosity of donations from individuals, churches and other community groups for these supplies.

Our shelter is a house with several bedrooms and two bathrooms.  The kitchen, living area, laundry room and bathrooms are communal.  We have 4 bedrooms, each with 2 full size beds in them.  We accept unaccompanied victims over the age of 18 and victims and their children (in school).  We have a huge backyard with a play set and deck.
